Album Notes
Only Makebelieve is a unique Alternative Prog Rock band with heavyweight melodies and strong writing style that have been praised by music critics all over the world. Their recordings feature a sprawling soundscape that force listeners to revisit their albums many times to absorb it all. The band leans heavily towards the polished British sound and have been influenced by artists such as The Beatles, Tears For Fears, Roger Joseph Manning Jr, Jason Falkner, and XTC. The group is comprised of two founding members: Samuel Atkinson and Wyatt Michael. The duo started a band in 1989 both at a very young age. Later, experimenting in several really bad recording studios, they recorded three small demos; some of which were played on national college radio including the famous 97X The Future of Rock and Roll and since developed a very strong songwriting style. They put the experience to work and built their own recording studio and over a period of 8 years, recorded and produced a work that stands out above the rest - a masterpiece debut album called 'Message From A Mockingbird'. The album was featured in French rock magazines as well as garnered much critical praise in the US and Europe as well as regular airplay on US national college radio. Only Makebelieve have established themselves as songwriters capable of recording complex arrangements, but with commercial quality, gaining listeners of all ages. Critical Audiophiles searching for an album that is full of unique songs, stellar performances, and powerful style, search no further.
