ON THESE AIRWAVES
Many times when listening to a group for the first time you try to compare the band to someone. The lead vocalist reminded me of Jackson Browne, but after listening more I am not sure. The backing vocals remind me a lot of early Alice in Chains, and then sometimes the songs remind me of some of the Beach Boys more experimental recordings such as PET SOUNDS and Brian Wilson's later recordings such as SMILE. But then again some of your approaches on certain songs remind me of Jam bands such as The Dead, Phish, and Widespread. I guess what I am getting at is that since the all of these influences come to mind, maybe the only thing ON THESE AIRWAYS really sounds like is Sunset Provisions. That is quite an accomplishment. This is a great album for anyone who enjoys the above artists or any good music.
