ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Orlando "LOVER'S JOURNEY" CD of original material is a recent winner of the song of the year "Collective Works" award, bridges many musical genres from Contemporary Rock, R&B and Country. Orlando collaborated with some of the very best North Jersey musicians who have made his CD a must-listen. Lover's Journey musicians: Rave Tesar - Keyboard & Synthesizers; Tom Barsch – Bass; Michael Czubik (aka CHEWY) Drums; Roger Placer - Lead Guitars and other special guest musicians.

Bio:
Orlando is a native Manhattan-born Bronx Boy who at the age of five demonstrated a very keen ear for music. Once the Beatles entered his world by way of Ed Sullivan, Orlando was determined to seek a path of musicianship--inspired to play guitar and write his own original songs. He could not stop singing all of Stevie Wonder's early hits. By age 17 Orlando had been in several grammar and high school bands and recorded 12 songs at CBS studios in NYC. As the youngest member of a Southern Rock influenced "FUSE BAND", Orlando enthused other older band mates to embrace his songs, as well as to write their own, in collaboration with FUSE BAND. At age 19 Orlando was lead guitarist and vocalist for "September Song" and was contracted by the infamous band of the 60's called "THE HAPPENINGS". He then toured with The Happenings for a few years, where Orlando cultivated much of his abilities to create smooth harmonies and hone his stage performance skills. Currently Orlando performs with SOULED OUT -- see www.souledoutband.net -- which he founded upon his return back into the music scene in 2000 after a long hiatus to pursue other career opportunities.

The Song of the Year songwriting contest has awarded Orlando Quinones the Collective Works placement in the song contest. The "Collective Works" placement is awarded to songwriters who have displayed consistency in songwriting excellence across various works. Song of the Year receives entries from all over the world and only the top songwriters receive a Collective Works placement in the songwriting competition.

Fantastic
This CD took me to many different places, and ... I like that. It's at the top of my (Car) favorites. If it sounds good in the car, it sounds good anywhere. The music compliments the words, and the words were heartfelt . I will look forward to hearing more music from this talented artist. Keep up the great work.

Orlando's Metamorphosis
What more can I say. I love the songs on this CD. I should know great music. I lived a couple of houses up from Orlando, but we all knew him as Gigi or Gig. We did everything together, modified and raced H.O. cars, built a hut in the woods, stripped engine parts out of abandoned cars and I would make huge bombs out of stripped firecrackers and blow them up outside his house. We hung together everywhere so just about every band that he got into I was always there helping out and always singing along. My older brother always brought home the best music from the best artists from Carole King, James Taylor, The Allman Brothers, Grand Funk Railroad, the best artists that Motown ever produced to unsung heroes in the rock genre like Humble Pie (Peter Frampton played lead way before he made it solo), to stuff you never heard on the radio like Nektar, to the horns of Chicago, Blood Sweat and Tears and the funk of Tower of Power. I would "steal" his albums and bring them over to Gig's to play on his console TV which was state of the art at the time. We influenced each other's music interests. I don't know how much of my brother's music influenced him but I would care to say that it was pretty substantial. It was like we couldn't get enough of the music that was coming out. Every day was like a contest to see who could come up with the next big album before it became big. Gig turned me on to Clapton, The Guess Who, Lou Reed and many others. one day I brought over Derek and the Dominos and he was in heaven. I sang on backing vocals with the Fuse Band at CBS studios in NYC. It was a shame that the producer couldn't get these guys where they needed to be but for all of us it was a great experience. We all kinda went our separate ways with what life threw at us and kept in touch here and there and for the last few years I have personally tried to make an effort to get back to my roots and went to a few of Orlando's gigs and had a great time. I knew that one day he would produce something and get it out there. Well folks, here it is. I wish he would release the Fuse Band recordings so you too could experience the raw talent of a few (mostly) Bronx based musicians. It was a one day deal and it was rushed so it wasn't polished but it was great. Lover's Journey is Orlando at his best. He's really come a long way with his voice. Smooth, like Johhny Mathis but still gritty enough to be one of my favs. I just asked him to sing Lover's Journey and Love Struck at my wedding reception in November. You to should experience Lover's Journey.
