ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Innovation and versatility could be concepts that describe the trajectory of Osvaldo Ayala. Along his career, this accordion player from Los Santos has introduced changes in the composition and instrumentation of folk music that have impacted the style and artistic performance of subsequent generations of Panamanian accordionists. Osvaldo has characterized himself for tracing his own path to success and for taking the accordion folk music farther than any other, as if part of his artistic vocation had been to contribute in positioning Panama’s culture around the world.

In addition, he has also the merit of having built a bridge between dancers from the capital city and those of the countryside, since thousands of followers of Osvaldo Ayala’s music became attracted by the folk music world due to its cheerful, contagious and different rhythm. He also has the merit of having introduced the electronic percussion and the wireless microphone, music resources that up to date are used by almost all Panamanian folk groups.

Osvaldo is an artist that is not afraid of changes; in fact, he has a professional curiosity that drives him to find new ways or forms to improve his music proposal, hence the originality of his style and artistic projection that articulates rhythm, content, and music frame in an unusual manner of our accordion music.

Interpreter, accordionist, composer, and vanguard of our accordion music around the world, Osvaldo Ayala is and will forever be recognized for his efforts aimed to enrich Panama’s music proposal, and for his devotion and perseverance in internationalizing our musical talent expressed through his songs and the notes of his accordion.
