Album Notes
Old School Soul by what many call the two greatest living soul singers. An album like Soul Brothers has not been recorded since the days of Sam and Dave. Otis Clay and Johnny Rawls have over 20 Blues Music Awards nominations between them. Otis was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame at the 2013 BMAs. Johnny has put out three albums that were selected Critics' Choice Southern Soul Album of the Year by Living Blues Magazine. Three perfect covers in Only You Know and I Know, What Becomes of the Broken Hearted, and Turn Back the Hands of Time along with original music written by Rawls and Trenchard plus one by Darryl Carter (writer of Blind, Crippled and Crazy, Woman Got To Have It and many other soul hits). Backed by the Catfood Records acclaimed Rays studio band with their powerful 4 piece horn section. Jon Olazabal, Southern California percussionist extraordinaire, has been added to make the big sound even bigger and funkier. Mixed by multiple Grammy award winner Jim Gaines and mastered by Grammy winner Brad Blackwood. Also available on vinyl.
