Album Notes
Wow, you gotta see this lady perform! Whether you are catching her with her southern twang belting out a Patsy Cline ballad or standing in the sanctuary of a church in your home town sharing her love for God through her own original songs-you know she is telling you a story of life. She sings of cheatin’ lovers or new found love and you realize she is lost in a story of life that she has experienced as her eyes tear up or a very private smile slides fleetingly across her lips. You have to be able to watch her expressions as the song develops from the first note to the very last emotional tag line. You will swear she is living through the story right there in front of you.

She stands in front of a congregation at your hometown church, practically whispering the first few measures of Amazing grace, and her energy increases with each word until she is so full of her love for God and the miracles He has allowed in her life, you just want to beg to experience The Lords love with the same depth of emotion she is feeling it. Then suddenly she is belting out some of her own original songs like “Water to Wine” and telling you the story of Jesus walking here on this earth making water turn to wine (without the help of the grapes on the vine) and feeding thousands with just two little fish and a lot of love. You feel that you are standing in that crowd of hungry people, filling up on the fish from the disciples hands!

When her husband Gary steps up on the stage to join her in a country western love song, you have no doubt that they share the same special love that they are singing about. When they sing and gaze into each others eyes, it is apparent this is not acting, the feelings they share are real.

The first CD Betty is offering here on CDBABY is a collection of her original songs. Four are brand new Gospel songs and the other six are country western songs she wrote a number of years ago.

Her first song to be recorded was “You Came right back”, a country song about lyin’, cheatin’ and all those actions consistent with a good country song, though she forgot about trains, trucks and mama! The musical arrangement for that song was provided by Rick Souza of Keysound productions.

When she realized God was guiding her to write for Him, she contacted John Covert who had provided the music tracks for all the additional songs on this CD. John is a well known singer, musician and songwriter who has won various awards for his music, Crystal Image is the name of his recording studio and he is located in northern California.

Betty Overstreet is the featured vocalist with “ The Overstreets”, a Gospel & Country Western Duo consisting of her husband Gary and herself. Betty has been singing since she was “Knee high to a grasshopper”, as she so often shares with their audiences.

She and Gary travel near and far to share their love of God through their favorite old time gospel songs. They recently traveled to St Vincent, an island in the Caribbean on a mission trip and she found herself being introduced as the “Country Western Evangelist singer”.

During the fall of 2007 as they were preparing to launch a Gospel music tour cross-country she tells us that, “God began to give her the gospel songs that are included on the CD. She is very excited about these four songs and is looking forward to completing more in the near future.

As she introduced the new songs, What would you do, Wondrous Love, Water to Wine and God did a real good job in the churches throughout Colorado, Missouri and Tennessee, she realized that they were really a hit with those who heard them. Now she is excited to share them with YOU, here on CDBABY!
