ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Owl Country is an American musical duo composed of singer-songwriters Yvette Holzwarth (violin) and Dan Imhoff (guitar) based in Sonoma County, California. The two met at a fundraiser for local agriculture and share ecological interests. This quickly led to their collaborative music writing, which combines a divergent set of music backgrounds. They are releasing their first album of original songs, a hybrid of folk, country, pop, and blues.

This collaboration between classically trained composer and Americana singer-songwriter results in original songs that feature nature-inspired story telling, tightly blended vocal harmonies and intertwining instrumental melodies. Frequently practicing in the 1906 one room Felta School outside Healdsburg, they decided that the warm resonant sound of the historic wooden building would provide a unique sonic atmosphere for their acoustic music. Over the summer of 2014, Owl Country will record its first album — a mix of pure duets and more complex instrumentation. The songs will be initially released one at a time and as EPs, followed by a CD release party in early 2015.
