Album Notes
Evren Ozan discovered the Native American flute on a cross-country road trip when he was six years old. His first album, Images of Winter, was recorded when he was 7, and he was honored the following year as "Rising Star" by the Native American Music Awards. His second album, As Things Could Be, was recorded when he was nine, and has been reviewed by numerous journals and heard on national and international radio stations. Evren's music is heard on several independent films, and he performs regularly throughout the United States. He has opened for R. Carlos Nakai and the R. Carlos Nakai Jazz Quartet, performed at receptions for Jane Goodall and Robert Kennedy Jr., among others, and performed in concerts with Peter Kater and Paul McCandless. Backroads Music cited As Things Could Be as one of 2003's Best Instrumental Albums, and in 2005, Evren received a second "Rising Star" award from the Native American Music Awards for this album. He was named a Davidson Fellow in Music in 2005, and performed in Alaska and Glastonbury, England. In the spring of 2006, Evren gave full solo concerts in Belgium and Berlin, Germany.

The back cover of As Things Could Be reads: "Child prodigy Evren Ozan plays the Native American flute with the command and grace of a seasoned master flutist. His youthful spirit transports us to a variety of rich and diverse musical landscapes that are complemented by contemporary and world instrumentation and world class guest artists. From joyous and upbeat to tender and introspective, his music conveys the thrill, innocence, awe and sacredness of all life. Evren Ozan paints a beautiful vision AS THINGS COULD BE."

The moment I heard the music on this CD, I got out of my chair and started to dance - it conveys the most unbelievable sense of joy! :):):) You've got to get this CD!

Evren is the best
i love this cd i have bought many cds but this one is my absolute favorite on a scale from 1 to 10, its a 10

I've never heard music like this before. It's a perfect mix of old and new. It's so amazing. I'd sell my soul to the devil for this. Well ... either that or just buy it. I'll just buy it. Much safer.

Wonderfully diverse and creative use of a supposedly pentatonic instument!
I found this album to be a an inspiration and a joy. As a composer of Native American Flute music myself, I was stunned to hear what this boy of nine years has accomplished in what has taken me nearly a decade to do. I anxiously await his next project. I particularly found his work with Graham Wiggins (Dr. Didj) incredible. Thank You Evren and keep up the beautiful message. Love, Light and Blessings, Erik Stitt

Love the sound of each track, the variety and energy was great.
CD a good intro to Evren's Spirit and a great glimpse of his inner light. The sound can touch the spirit and souls of the listener.

It is the music from which dreams are made!
I was blown away when I heard NEBULA. I played it over and over again. I couldn't believe that a 9 yr old boy had written this along with the other great songs on the CD. EVREN, you are a prince among men. This collection of works was meaningful and heartfelt and, from the sound of it...quite FUN! Bravo Kiddo!

My 8 year old grandson and I play your CD everyday.
I love the music and when my grandson comes to visit , he asks me to play Nebula(our favorite). Truly gifted young man.

Absolutely wonderful music!
I love this CD. Wonderful to listen to in almost any situation. Exceptional musicianship from Evren. I especially like the songs Nebula and As things could be-- great percussion accompaniment. I look forward to his next album!

Things Could Be is a Prayer for the whole World!
My favorite song on "Things Could Be" is "As Things Could Be". I love the Native Flute in this song and Evren plays it with so much ease. Guillermo has taught you well on how to play the Native American Flute. Pauline and I listen to this CD all the time and also the other CD's we have from Evren. I hope and pray everyone buys "Things Could Be" and use the music and message in their everyday lives. This is a must CD to buy and share it with your whole family. Evren you are the bomb youngman!
