ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Celebrate (C. Phillips) – Chuck stumbled upon some interesting chords and then added Latin, African, and urban rhythms. The result is a world-beat call to get up and dance.

Crystal Ball (L. Bonati) – The first song in our earth trilogy, this is about our house of glass and features a gypsy scale.

Standing Still (C. Phillips) – Song number two in our trilogy was inspired by the 1951 movie, The Day the Earth Stood Still.

Vertical Horizon (L. Bonati) – While hiking along the San Pedro River, Lori thought about Mother Earth and our nearest neighbor, and the third song in the trilogy was born.

The Going Away Blues (J. Bowen) -- Chuck’s friend Jim wrote this wonderful blues tune, which resonates with a lot of us. Chuck gave it his own New Orleans interpretation.

Bowling (L. Bonati) – This song is dedicated to Lori’s father, a musician who liked to bowl. The lyrics were written a while ago, and the melody rolled down the alley this year.

The Painter (C. Phillips) – This song is dedicated to Chuck’s mother, an artist who loved the ocean and all of nature.

If (L. Bonati) – This love song took Lori months to finish. It needed time to find its voice.

The Jive Waltz (C. Phillips) -- Chuck wrote this many years ago. The title and drum intro were inspired by a Cannonball Adderley tune, The Jive Samba. Brazilian jazz of the 1970s influenced the vocal parts.

An Afternoon or Evening of Enjoyment
This is Pacific Buffalo's second album collection and each time they just seem to kick up their music a notch. Love the beat in "The Jive Waltz" but, each song has it's own unique character. Another one I like is something I've heard before called "Crystal Ball". The whole collection is really enjoyable to spend an afternoon with. Hope you can enjoy.

Great Adult Pop Music
Pacific Buffalo comes from a very interesting mix of musical influences, and they are quite adept and combining these influences into original songs. Just listen to the wide musical range on display in "Celebrate", "Crystal Ball" and "Jive Waltz" and you will hear some very sophisticated and fun songs. They are talented performers, and the cd has great engineering qualities as well. I think anybody would love their sound.
