ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
I write for a living for other people -- fiction, nonfiction, articles; as either a by-line author, contributor, or ghostwriter -- but the songwriting is exclusively for me.

I'm Paisley Bishop and I was "born" in 2010. I wanted to write songs and sing them, but every guitarist I interviewed for the part of my accompanying instrumentalist either turned out to be a drama queen (or king), egotistical, or a creep. My hands were tied. Out of necessity, I picked up a six-string and taught myself.

It seems to have worked.

In 2011 I released this guinea pig EP, 'Take One.' It was a home project -- the tracks were never mastered, not professionally recorded, and I fiddled with the editing myself. I learned about the album publishing process and only sold a few discs. It was enough to get me going.

From 2010 through 2013 I played a lot of covers in bars, restaurants, Farmer's Markets, small-town events. I even performed as lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for a band for a time and that was fun. Then I married and relocated from California to the Midwest with my new husband...

...where I recorded and released my second CD, 'Seasons,' in 2017 (also available for download).

With the new 2017 release, I decided to take the time to actually master the 'Take One' tracks and sell them again, this time making them available as digital downloads as well as hardcopy discs. The sound is still raw and -- dare I say? -- immature, but they are an integral part of my development as a musician. So, here they stay. Historically imperfect.

Future Paisley Bishop projects include: a Christmas album, and a traveling worship music project I'm calling WingNotes.
