Album Notes
Captain Lane

Lane is a stereotypical shy-guy by day. He needs his fill of dutch courage which slowly but surely gives him the confidence to impress the girls and ultimately have his regular one night stand with no intention of bonding a relationship. Karma is waiting.

Pale Blue Jak

It’s all about catchy melodic tunes, making the people feel a vibe.
It’s all about Pale Blue Jak.

When I heard Grenade for the first time it made me sing it even though I didn’t know the words, a strong melody but I could also hear a completely different version.

Mr Ace

I once had a friend who had an endearing and gentle character but made up the most far fetched yarns. He once told me that the tree in the middle of our school playground was mechanical and that he had built it himself. Quite impressive for a 6 old! Haven’t we all met a Mr Ace!

A story about a boy who had an infatuation for a much older woman and didn’t know how to break the news to her. Let’s just say “paperboy” turned the page!

How was he to know when he fell in love with her, that she would eventually murder him not knowing that he would be hanging around in spirit to make her life a very unsettling one...

Mr Blue Sky

This brings me back to my childhood, sitting in front of dad’s old Toshiba stereo listening to ELO, one of my all time favourites. I guess this was where my journey began.

In the depths of their despair a young married couple find themselves coming up with an irrational plan to hold a bank manager to ransom to gain the life they dreamed of… His name was Charlie... now it’s D-13.

Sadie Jones and I

Set in a different era, light hearted track based on love at first sight. She is the perfect stranger on the bus that he travels to work on every morning. Never late for taking a chance or stealing a glance and like all good fairy tales he wins her heart in the end.

Let em in

This brings me back in time once again to my childhood when neighbours and friends would often drop by unannounced. Computers and mobile phones have all but changed that.

A Life I Once Had

Looking through the window from the other side, the hereafter finds him reflecting from a different perspective.

Lost and Tender

I think I can safely say most of us have had to endure some form of depressive state in our life time, for some, depression is their biggest cross to bear. With a lot of love, help and soul searching they can find their way. This song was written in a time of my life when I was a little “Lost and Tender”.

My Parade

Life is short. I will do my best to enjoy life. Please be don’t rain on my parade.

Not what I expected. Blew me away. Especially liked "A Life I Once Had". Fantastic job Neil.

PBJ awesome!
Neil Byrne has done it again...a talented singer/songwriter, a guy with a lot going on beneath his shy demeanor. Stellar cover of Grenade, akin to Cherish in his debut album, Sensitive Souls! You will not be disappointed, and glad you gave it a listen! We asked, Neil answered! Brilliant work! Rock on, Neil! ;-)

Our Neil
I can only speak in superlatives with referenced to this album. It is so uplifting. I find it difficult to pick a favor song--they are all superior. I do favor Captain Lane. No one shouldl be disappointed in this album. It is worth every penny and more so. Thanks, Neil.

"It’s all about catchy melodic tunes, making the people feel a vibe."
From the album notes, that quote really sums this up. What a great album to just sit and listen to! Neil Byrne and friends have done it again, 'Faces' is a collection of not only melodic tunes - but sweet lyrics as well. Most of the music is original, but there is one very impressive'll have to go listen to find it! Stories about people - the people we've met, the people we've been, the people we are. The music brings to mind classics like Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney....good company for Pale blue Jak to be in.

Well thought out..
Just from listening to the album it's amazing how well her writes music, he hopefully will make the charts. Good Luck Neil

Memories and great vibes
What a great album to listen to. Neil has put together a group of songs that all compliment each other in theme and sound. Sit a while and smile while you listen to his lyrics on life and reflections. Nicely done.

Another great album by Neil Byrne of Celtic Thunder & The Hipple Street
Neil Byrne of The Billboard World Chart's Top performers for 2011 Celtic Thunder has put out another album of great tunes that will make a dark day seem sunny! A light hearted romp of electric pop tunes that harken back to his The Hipple Street days in 2006. Neil Byrne never disappoints! A must have for every Celtic Thunder fan who cant get enough Neil!

Faces is a fantastic album and Neil Byrne is an extremely talented artist. A beautiful voice, amazing musician (on multiple instruments), and an incredible songwriter & arranger. The songs are all different but the album flows smoothly from beginning to end. My favorites are: Grenade (a gorgeous cover, very different from the original version), Paperboy and
My Parade. The whole album is great, I must have played it at least 200 times and I still love it as much as the first time I heard it. I highly recommend this album and can't wait for the next one.

I absolutely love this album! I can't say enough good things about it! The music is so emotional! One song makes you cry, another makes you laugh, and yet somehow Neil has mad them all flow so well together.

Absolutely Wonderful
Neil Byrne is a very talented singer/songwriter. It's a great album to listen to from the first song all the way to the last song. My favorite song is "Paperboy". Keep up the good work Neil!!!
