ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
A motorcycle accident in 1975 and the diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis in 1988 presented Pam Edgar with a great many challenges. This CD is a testament to how artists like Pam channel adversity into something positive. A re-connection to poetry and music resulted in songs born from from real life experience.

Nanaimo's Songwriter's Circle is a once a month gathering of songwriters on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. This event provided an opportunity to share original works. It was there that she established herself as a credible poet and songwriter, catching the attention of veteran producer Dave Kilbank of the record label "The Hermit's Music". Edgar's weekly radio show "Songwriter's Circle" on CHLY 101.7 FM, cultivated a deep network of local musicians and songwriters that became enthusiastic collaborators and contributors to "New Day Coming".

Finding her voice, melodies and harmonies have, as Pam says, "helped me heal from outside in and back again".
Though the lyrics are rooted in her personal challenges, victories and the joys, these contemporary folk songs are written in a way that makes them universally relatable. Pam's style in both voice and song crafting have been likened to Eva Cassidy.
