ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
PAMELA HOWLAND is a gifted American pianist, Steinway Artist, and 2017-2018 U.S. Fulbright Scholar in Poland who breathes life and vitality into classical music for audiences of any age or background. Vivacious, imaginative, sensitive and just a trifle unconventional, she is that rare classically trained performing artist who thrives as an entertainer.
Her passion for promoting classical music has led her to develop a unique style of performance which allows her audiences to go away educated and entertained, feeling they have learned something about themselves as well as the music. ("Pamela Howland…on a fascinating musical journey" – Fred Child, host of “Performance Today” on American Public Media).

Although Howland is a prodigious arranger of others' music, "Golden Summer (Michael & Briana's Song)" is her first original piano solo, and was written in honor of fellow Fulbrighter, Michael Gilmor, who passed away unexpectedly and tragically on August 25, 2018. Her melancholy and peaceful composition honors both the beauty of his life and the sadness of this great loss, rendered in her elegant, lyrical piano style.
