ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Twelve distinctive didgeridoo songs by Oregon-based didgeridoo artist Pamela Mortensen each having its own story and feeling from the electronic dance music inspired Blink of and Eye to the deep blue/purple ambient hues of Stalagmites. From the humor of Horivertizontal and Okvar But Ot to the sultry belly dancing rhythm of Chiftitelli. Seeing the didgeridoo as an organic synthesizer, Pamela weaves voice, diaphragm, intricate Middle Eastern, Scandinavian and tribal rhythms with urban beats and ambient atmosphere to develop a powerful and dynamic sound. Pamela's musicality and her skills as a composer shine thought on an instrument that is not easy to compose for. It’s more than just rhythm, it’s music making that tells stories of old and new, dark and light always with an interesting twist.
