ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The latest recording from multi-instrumentalist Joe Panzetta features a spectrum of sounds and guest musicians. The low-down groove of "Night Funk" and "Green Tara", the expansiveness of "Goodbye Blue Sky" and "Bardo", and the warm acoustic vibe that traverses the whole CD are performed by Panzetta on voice, guitars, piano, bass and drums, along with special guests including: Peter Mulvey, Dave Keenan, Nova Devonie, Andy Santospago, and Dave Janssen.

Joe Panzetta is a Seattle-based songwriter whose original music and soulful voice fall somewhere into the thread of folk rock and world music. Some of his influences include Nick Drake, Crosby Stills & Nash, Marvin Gaye, Richie Havens, Wilco, Neil Young, Elliot Smith, and Stevie Wonder. Joe's first band was formed during college, where he and Peter Mulvey fronted Big Sky.

We migrate through the seasons, through the years, through the places of our lives. These songs are about life, death, love and the place we experience it all.

Be amazed...
I've been looking forward to this CD for some time now, and it sure doesn't disappoint. Joe Panzetta has grown in leaps and bounds, and the different influences in his writing make this eclectic CD a delight. "Migration" is mesmerizingly beautiful, "Night Funk" is reminiscent of the great Talking Heads ventures wherein you are amazed at how they can so successfully bring unexpected instrumentation into the song (accordian and violin? and it's so, well, funky!), "My Sweet Love" surprising with a Spanish/Gypsy element, and on and on. I love this CD. I'll be chain-smoking it for months...like Los Lobos' "Kiko" there's more to hear each time you put it on.
