by A Particularly Vicious Rumor

As if the ocean were a conglomeration of tears from the walrus, and you were swimming through it, and you never got tired and you never needed to breathe...One astute listener called it "the music I SHOULD have been dancing to for the last 12 years."

Album Notes
Kid Twist and Lady-O enjoy spending quiet evenings at home drinking gin and grapefruit juice...just the two of us...

As residents of New Orleans (pre AND post Katrina), we write songs with an eye toward the rising seas. We believe the oceans are conglomerations of walrus tears and we're just swimming them...never tiring, never short of breath...

The songs on "APVR" are a reflection of 2 years of writing and arranging and dance-partying and countless friendships and jobs-gone-bad and lost fathers and illusions-stripped-bare and summertime stagnation and involuntarily liberated city-states and gaping transient spectators and love affairs that sputtered and soared and dreams, epic dreams.

But mainly, our music is a collection of letters to lovers we'll probably never send...

so good I bought it twice
My husband bought the CD after hearing APVR on Pandora, and we had it going in the car for weeks. I liked it so much, I bought it as a Christmas present for my best friend!

I like it
I like this CD. All songs are not equally good and I've got some preferences, but overall it is a good album, one I listen regularly since I bought it.

Great Gift
This was a gift to my Fiancee for Solstice, and she absolutely adores it.

Really, really worth it!
I'm really happy I got this CD, it's great! I love piano and pretty songs in general, but I even love the upbeat songs on this record. I've been listening to it pretty much nonstop since I got it!

A Classic Album
Every song on this album is incredible to listen to and very mesmerizing. I only hope there are future albums in store and, even if there isn't, I will continue to keep this standout in my daily circulation.

This tall dude who used to go to your shows a lot

Next best thing to live show
This record is great! I used to see APVR live all the time when I was living in New Orleans, and felt the burn for their songs again. Their record delivers- no two ways about it! Wonderful recording (lo-fi but not too lo-fi) and a bitchin' zine included! For some reason I feel the need to put exclamation points after everything I say! I guess it's because it's just that good! Oh by the way, I put this record on at my new place of work (in the bible belt in South Carolina) and this middle-aged Baptist lady and myself ended up dancing together to "Everything..."-- APVR brings people together!

I love this album so much! I\'ve only heard three or four of the songs before I bought it so I was a bit nervous about whether or not I would like the rest, but I do.

"The Truckers"

With this CD, one time is never enough.
This near genius lyrical content coupled with the spiritual healing beats of your heart and soul touches your hidden desires to the core and magically compels you to rise with the tides and dance. It's what you would hear if you were 1000 feet in the depths of the sea on a sunken, forgotten ship, discovering it's lost treasures. The beat is soothing and the lyrics are hip and straight forward. Truely a work of art. Lady O's voice moved me to a wheeping frenzy. A must buy.

I can't say enough about how much I enjoy APVR's music. So much talent. Please give us more of the same.
