Album Notes
As a vocalist whose passion lies within the story of a song, my love for the Great American Songbook, should come as no surprise. The beauty of these melodies combined with the subtlety of their lyric, make them such lovely vehicles for expression, and because these songs have withstood the test of time by continuing to open themselves up and speak to us, they have served as a soundtrack for all generations. For this recording, we decided to scale back to just voice and piano, in hopes of creating a setting closer to the original Cabaret context. Through his creative, yet thoughtful editing, and harmonic maturity, Anthony Wonsey's lush accompaniment, helped to vividly capture the magic these songs have to offer. This being said, we sincerely hope you enjoy listening to these songs, as much as we enjoyed recording them for you.
