Album Notes
"On the heels of fellow Russian trumpet greats like Valery Ponomarev, Alex Sipiagin, comes a new trumpet voice from Russia, Pasha Karchevsky. I’m listening to his music, I am taken back by his ability to write melodies that seamlessly intertwine various rhythm structures. The music alters moods, alters harmonic centers, and alters rhythmic meters, all without losing the attention of the listener. It’s an accolade to Pasha for having the courage to write in this vein and accolades to his awesome band for having the ability to approach this musicon such a high level. Pasha and his band play with a high level of patience that allows the music to flow organically despite the many challenges the Music brings.
I love Pasha’s patient approach. His tone is allowed to sing because of it. He never sounds urgent or in a rush to display sheer ability. He is simply playing music and allowing his trumpet tone and impeccable bandmates to take the listener on a musical excursion that’s well worth the trip. I look forward to hearing more from this great trumpet player and the growth he and his band will endure as they continue to develop their style of play"
- Duane Eubanks

"Pasha Karchevsky is a fine and articulate trumpet player who has assembled a great group of rising stars of the New York jazz scene for
his first recording as a leader. Expect to hear a lot more from him in the future!"
