Album Notes
Ten months ago I released my first album (Hymns in a Mellow tone) just solo guitar. After numerous requests, I have now released my first Christmas album. The tracks are either solo, or with two guitars. Christmas songs are a lot of fun to play, and the melodies are familiar to most. Although there is improvisation in each of the pieces, I strove to keep the basic melody in site in the selections. It was great to have Jason Erhardt play cello on O Come, O Come Emmanuel. On the recording date, I discussed the framework and rhythmic ideas that I would like for the tune. In a few minutes Jason filled in the blanks, and we recorded it! The cello was a perfect fit for the song. All of the other songs have a jazz feel. Overall, I hope you enjoy the album!
Thanks for listening!
