Album Notes
Boston based Patrice Monahan’s life-long passion for jazz is quite evident in her 2008 debut CD Going Places. Patrice sings with the passion of a true Jazz singer. The authenticity is unique and paired with the talented jazz pianist Eyran Katsenelenbogan . The CD starts out with All of Me. Patrice’s sultry jazz sound is reminiscent of musical legends Anita o'Day and Peggy Lee. She demonstrates her broad musical range singing the fast paced upbeat tune Straighten Up and Fly Right about the monkey and the buzzard and later in the slow jazz ballad You Go To My Head. Music lovers appreciate her wide ranging voice and multi faceted sound ranging from angelic to sexy to true jazz legend appeal. Patrice embodies genuine swing jazz energy from her soul. A true salute to Composers like Duke Ellington and Sammy Cahn. You’ll love the crispness of Patrice’s vocals and the light and lively piano accompaniment of Eyran. This CD is perfect for a Sunday afternoon by the fire or sipping wine with friends before dinner. Whether you are new to jazz or have been listening to the jazz greats since the 40’s you’ll find this CD satisfies your jazz desires. Patrice’s admirers are already looking forward to her next CD. It is obvious this talented performer is ignited and is indeed Going Places!
