Album Notes
As both a general actavist and a member of the Industrial Workers of the World (I.W.W.) it has been my pleasure to perform on many rickity stages that make up the ongoing revolution. I consider doing so a labor of love. While I write on many topics of social justice, this Cd concentrates on labor songs. The collection opens with "Workin' Stiffs Song" which was written for local Jobs With Justice rally's and then for seventeen songs takes you on a musical tour through the highs and lows of the working class. Along the way you will feel the urge to laugh, the need to cry and, I hope, find yourself believing that together we can make a difference. Labor is the real moving force in all of our lives and these songs are my tribute Workers everywhere. The final five songs of the collection make up what is called the WisconSin Suite and were written to help raise the spirits of those struggling in Wisconsin to protect workers rights everywhere. As you listen to these songs remember two things - first, the better world we would like to see will have to be built with our hands, and second, we have nothing to lose but our chains. So - grab a sign - step up to the line - loosen up those vocal cords and lets get this thing done; because the revolution has already started.
