Album Notes
The songs in Light in the NIght have been gathered primarily from music of Threshold Choir which brings music to people who are dying or at other important thresholds. They are prayerful and profound but not at all sad or depressing. There are also a few tunes which are better known and I just happen to like a lot. I'm so grateful to have gotten permission from the amazing composers of this music to sing these songs and to have the opportunity to arrange them in different ways and sometimes add instruments including guitar, bass, drums and a variety of others. Also I've been incredibly lucky to work side by side with John Hoy who is a fabulously talented musician with an enormous heart and incredible instincts.

Here are some beautiful responses I've received:

"It is such a gift to listen to Patty sing these songs. The perfection I had only imagined is truly present in her voice and arrangements. I am able to receive the peace and joy, the beauty contained in the music and be deeply moved by it.

It is quite likely, in my opinion, that Patty spends quite a bit of time in the company of angels!" True Heitz

"Listening to Patty Wolfe's " Light in the Night" is like giving your heart and soul a warm, scented bath that cleanses away
tension and stress and leaves you feeling soothed, refreshed and at peace." Irene D. Favreau, Ph.D.

"Life just seems to move faster and faster which is one of the reasons I like your CD so much. When I listen to your sweet voice singing some of my favorite songs from the Threshold Choir repertoire, my mind slows down and I refocus on the important things in life. "My Grateful Heart" reminds me to forgive past sorrows to gain lasting peace. "Navajo Prayer" calls me to live in such a way that I will rejoice, even as others may weep, at the end of my life. And I particularly like your version of "So Many Angels [All Around Me]" with its upbeat message of hope and comfort. I like all the songs on your CD- You sing them so beautifully! As you know, I enjoyed my own copy of your CD so much, I purchased four more to give as gifts." Linne M.

"How does one voice become so many? Patty has the immense skill and creativity to perfectly sing in her bright, clean-pitched voice, each solo phrase. But listen as "more" voices join in and realize that these, too are all Patty's voice, now a duet, now a quartet and now a choral ensemble. This is pure genius, artfully rendered! And it's precious music to soothe the ruffled soul." Susan Garrett, Marin

"In her new CD, Patty Wolfe places her beautiful voice in service to the music itself, honoring every tune with creative instrumentation or quiet layered harmonies or just the solo melody rising from the silence and cradling the listener in pure, clear sound. Her lovely rendering of my own song, "My Grateful Heart," has given me yet one more reason to be grateful. Patty, thank you." Laura Fannon

I hope listeners will receive half the pleasure from these recordings that I have had in recording them! and p.s. I've also been told it's very helpful for staying calm while driving in terrible traffic - Patty
