The Visitant

by Paul Grigsby

A rhythmic, non-metered tonal soundscape made of electronic sound and otherworldly non-human voices. Consider this work a mediation between the strong, dark forces and gentle, innocence of pure light. This album is a psychedelic lullaby.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The work brings out the dark side, ominous and foreboding. As the piece progresses, it becomes clear that the darkness is slowly being exposed to the light revealing what has been hidden all these years in its misunderstood innocence. What was first feared is now welcomed. Shadow fades into illumination as the prodigal child returns to the primordial light.

The Visitant was created after The Tao of the Kung and continues the theme of non-metered, cadence based streams of synthesized and natural voicing. Some no input mixing is used along with recorded, natural sounds.

The album cover is a portion of a picture taken in the valley between Sao Paulo and Rio and hasn’t been doctored or photoshopped but it does look like some big celestial being.
