Album Notes
As a kid growing up in the 70's I fell in love with the sounds on my parents record collection. Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, The Ventures, Jimmy Reed , and Bill Doggett were in the regular rotation. Although I didn't start playing the guitar until I was 16 years old, I was always fascinated with the guitar sounds on those records. I also loved the Gospel stuff that Elvis recorded. Over the years I became an eclectic artist making my living playing guitar in mostly Blues and Rock bands. As a Christian I have long had the desire to write and perform music in the Gospel genre. I finally got the ball rolling when my original composition "Jerusalem" came to me in a dream. From there I immersed myself in the sounds of The Staple Singers, The Dixie Hummingbirds, The Blind Boys of Alabama, and many more. With the help of many talented musicians and singers who are also great friends, I feel like this album captures those vintage sounds that I love. "I hope you give it a listen and are truly blessed.--Paul Holdman"
