Album Notes
There are two reasons what I wrote this song. “The 7 and The 2.”
It’s not what you think, until you read the story behind “The 7 and The 2.”

The year was 2002. A few months after 911. I was already writing songs. Spanish and English.
Stopping by a music store in downtown San Antonio, I sat talking to the store manager. As his phone rang, he answered. I turned away and looked up. There was a Grammy award winning musician passing by me. He nodded. I quickly got up and told him I was a songwriter. His name, Flaco Jimenez. A conjunto musican who
accompanied many well known artists with his accordion. Dwight Yoakum, The Rolling Stones, Buck Owens and many others.

When I got home, on the internet I researched Flaco life and career. In his bio,
I knew he lost a daughter in 1999. It was only two weeks after he had won his fifth Grammy, she died in a horrific car accident. I saw her birth date, and my blood ran cold.

It was in 2007, I wrote “The Ballad of The Coyote.” I thought I would send the song to George Strait. I did not hear a word from him. But meanwhile, I decided to read and research his life and career. Yes, most all of us knew of his daughter dying in car accident. When I saw her birth date, I sat there incredulous at what I was reading.

I, then start putting two and two together.

Since 2000, I have been (on and off) in deep prayer and fasting. I will explain this below.
Now, if you believe in God. George and Flaco are spiritually connected.

These two great musicians through sorrow, has brought great joy to the world. They are instruments doing God’s service. By playing, singing, traveling, they are able help God’s children forget about their problems(for awhile). Life is hard. But when the music plays, the spiritual communication begins and our problems dissipate.

Now, my own journey as a mom, and a songwriter, I will tell you why I had gone into prayer.
The month the date was January 24, 1999, our family lost a member. My son Adam Duran Alonso was handicap from being a premmie. He lived eighteen years. He lived in a home in Corpus Christi.
His oldest brother, my oldest son, Carlos Duran Alonso hurt beyond hurt. He kept his tortuous grief hidden. Until, May 2001, he was stricken with Systemic Scleroderma.
After researching, my sister, Norma and I found out in Conventional medicine, there is no cure. But in alternative medicine, the Scleroderma could be reversed.
It was then, I fell to my knees, prayed and fasted. The first year, my son was declining fast. Yet, God heard my prayers and my faith. He sent His miracles, kept my son alive. After extending his life for 13 years, God called my son home. The date, July 2, 2014
I have one living son, Richard Duran Alonso. He is the Dad of my only grandson, Gabriel.
Now, these are the two reasons, I wrote this song. My son Carlos Duran Alonso and Adam Duran Alonso are the reasons.

These links cannot be denied..ever. So those who do not believe in God or has lost faith in him. Maybe God will bring you back to Him.
Adam Alonso (my blind/handicap son) died on January 24, 1999 .....Rosalinda Jimenez is killed in a car accident April 1999.Adam dies on he last birthday. Her birthdate..January 24, 1972

Rosalinda Jimenez is Flaco's daughter. He is the accordion player of the Texas Tornados. Two weeks after winning his fifth Grammy award, Rosalinda is killed in a car accident 1/2 block from his house. They hear the accident, they rush to the scene and it's too late.

Adam Duran Alonso (my youngest son’s) birthday is June 25, 1980. On June 25, 1986 Jenifer Strait, is killed in a car accident. Her birthdate is Oct 6, 1972
Jenifer Strait is the daughter of George Strait.

Jenifer and Rosalinda are born the same year. 1972. They leave this earth the same way. Jenifer at night, and Rosalinda during the day.
Adam and Rosalinda  die the same year. 1999
Now..for the final link. Carlos Duran Alonso (my oldest son) dies July 2, 2014.
The date 7/2/2014 (72)

God’s power cannot be denied. Nor can His plans for us. He knew us before we are born.
This song is dedicated to all my sons. Carlos, Richard and Adam.
