Album Notes
This original epic tune, composed and produced by Paul for the 7th World Studios/Win Records label, features the late
Tim Mooney of American Music Club on drums, critically acclaimed John Murry with vocals / lyrics, guitars, melodica, organ; Alex Benitez on bass guitar, additional guitars, background / harmony vocals, melodica; and of course writer and producer, Paul Wendell Draper on electric and acoustic guitars, background / harmony vocals.
Paul and Tim (both originally expatriates from the seminal SF proto / post punk band, The Sleepers) began this song prior to Tim’s passing and Paul continued working on the song in Tim’s memory. The song, which was originally inspired by the roller coaster of a traditional love story with uplifting and light hearted riffs spiraling into deeper and darker refrains, evolved into the story of the love and journey to be found in all true friendships, such as that between Paul Draper and Tim Mooney. The addition “stuff is worth repairing” to the title was added after Tim’s death as an acknowledgement to the main cornerstone of Tim Mooney’s philosophy of life.

“A Love Story (stuff is worth repairing)” is the culmination of an inspirational musical partnership and friendship that began with Tim and Paul’s involvement with the band, The Sleepers, in their youth. The Sleepers was a popular seminal and post punk rock band that inspired the likes of Kurt Cobain (Nirvana) in his musical development, among other popular musicians, e.g. Flipper, Toiling Midgets.
