Album Notes
After writing and sharing "Holy, Holy (God Are You)" and "Breath of God, Breathe" with our church in California, we were ready for a heavier sound and a more modern approach in the studio. We linked up with Colby Wedgeworth as a producer and recording engineer and were very pleased with the results. Both songs have been well received and have become part of the regular repetoire in our worship services.

"Holy, Holy (God Are You)" found its initial inspiration from a sermon by one of our pastors on the greatness of God. Playing around with the lyrics, somehow singing "What a great, great God are you" didn't seem to have quite the same punch and power as "Holy, holy, God are you."

"Breath of God, Breathe" began on the piano in my office at the church with a simple chord progression and walking bass line. It was a more meditative arrangement until Colby got his hands on it! I'll never forget sitting there, having just played him the song on the guitar. He was bobbing his head to a beat with his eyes closed and asked, "What's the name of that new Beyonce song?" From there, the big drum beat, the opening guitar lick, and the power vocals followed.

I thought to myself... "This is why we're paying him the big bucks!"
