Album Notes
Peter C. Johnson recorded critically acclaimed albums for A&M and CBS Records in the late 70s. Yaka Yaka is his 3rd CD since returning to music in 2001. Yaka Yaka, half spoken and half sung, is a story of one man's journey through hell following the shooting death of John Lennon.

Over the course of his 40 years in music, Johnson has opened shows for an eclectic group of headliners including Van Morrison, The Velvet Underground, Bonnie Raitt, J. Geils, Townes Van Zandt, Howling Wolf, and Cat Stevens.

Johnson's music has always existed on the fringes. One critic called his last project, SOUL SHERPA, "an extended obscene phone call." Another said, "You'll want to shower after listening to this."

Yaka Yaka was co-produced by legendary A&R man Howard Thompson, who's signings include Adam & the Ants, Bjork, The Slits, The Psychedelic Furs, 10,000 Maniacs, and Burning Spear. Please visit: www.petercjohnson.com

One of the Best Recordings
Bought this album 8 years ago . So glad it was made because it continues to be one of the best recordings ever.

Maturity Runs Through This Record
This cd is lovely. A lot of musicians even from the same genre may have similar emotions within their own story(s). But, not all of them choose to communicate their heaviness or its origin by spacing it so that every vocal/instrument texture counts. As far as the writing, it sounds like it took the right moment at the right time to finally let go of all of those walls. Ultimately, I like how this record is transmitted, with care.
