Album Notes
Pedro Concepcion, the country’s foremost guitarist, masterfully strikes fervent chords so as to bring into your home some of the most romantic and enchanting music – “Philippine Memories.”

Many-toned and expressive, the guitar, in the hands of an expert easily stirs fond memories by transporting the listener to the nether of dream-romances. The glittering guitar playing of Pedro Concepcion with the Villar Symphonette under the baton of Leopoldo Silos (son of the great Juan Silos Jr.), weaving in and out through the music with incomparable manner and style, makes a sparkling program that will captivate vast listeners everywhere.

Music lovers who have had the opportunity of listening to his early recordings with Villar, have hailed him as one of the real guitar virtuosi.

Pedro Concepcion Vol I
When I initially heard Pedro Conception played Kalisud, Nasaan Ka Inday and Ang Tangi Kong Pagiibig as my father would strum his guitar with these songs some 20 years ago I choked with emotion and tears ran down my ckeeks uncontrollably. I felt somewhat guilty considering I am a senior. But then Arts, Music and the artist are timeless and ageless. The artist is so talented and probably less admired as guitarists in Spain. I grew up with the guitar sound listening to my father mesmerized us children. Hearing this album made me realize how beaautiful he was and I miss him terribly. I must thank the artist because his artistry and music bring me closer to Dad again. A beautiful album to listern to at night with a glass of wine. A great escape from television.
