Album Notes
Peggy Tabor Millin has been guiding women in the writing process through classes, workshops, and retreats for near twenty years. She is an inspiring speaker and teacher and author of Women, Writing, and Soul-Making: Creativity and the Sacred Feminine and Mary's Way: Cultivating a Peaceful Heart in Trying Times, as well as nonfiction articles, short stories, and poetry. Her mission is through programs in the written word to facilitate women in developing their voice so they can stand in their power and inspire positive change in the world. Sponsored by the North Carolina Writers' Network, this workshop was offered to persons of both genders and focused specifically on telling family stories.

Millin writes, "Our family defines us no matter how we define "family." Our family leaves its mark on our features, our personalities, and our souls. Telling family stories provides a way to sort through who we have become and to share the path we have traveled with others. Centered Writing Practice leads us where we need to go, sometimes ferreting out the forgotten or correcting the misperceived. Without intent or design, writing family stories can heal wounds from the past and free us to be more fully ourselves."

Cheryl Dietrich, author of personal essays published in The Gettysburg Review and Shenandoah, says, "I have a truth inside me I want to express, a special truth that only I can tell. We all do. That's why we write. And this realization is the great gift that Peggy's [writing] programs have given me--and continue to give me."
