ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Pekka Toivanen released his newest CD, “Arctic Brambles” at the Tyyki-Jazz Festival in Forssa, Finland February 2006. His new recording features his interpretations of classic jazz songs. Toivanen operates with a traditional piano, bass and drums rhythm section. On bass is featured his long-time bandmate Wade Mikkola (see cdbaby for his own recordings!).
Pekka Toivanen draws his inspiration from the classic school of jazz tenor playing, and his approach does honor to the history of jazz. All this is done with a Finnish accent!
