Album Notes
This collection of mixed genre songs showcases the varied writing styles of Bags and Smelly, founder members of Penzephyr.

Penzephyr, as a project, comprises Bagz (Errol Balzer) and Smelly (Errol Fellows). It has also been a working band in various forms, with various other members over the years and was very active during the early ‘70’s and mid ‘80’s.

Bagz and Smelly are close friends and have been writing songs together since the ‘60's for the pure enjoyment of doing just that; writing songs and playing them whenever the opportunity presented itself.

Smelly, who contributes a metronomic and thundering bass whenever he performs, is a career musician and well-respected bassist in the South African Music Industry.

Bagz, known for his thrashing rhythm style, prefers to stay on the fringes and, apart from a brief professional spell circa late 60's/ early 70's, appears publicly mainly as a guest.

Some months ago, Smelly and Bagz, while reminiscing over a few glasses of wine, reflected on the fact that, despite their collaborations over the past decades, they actually had nothing physically to show for their efforts.
The decision was then made to leave some of their original works for posterity.

This mini-epiphany has resulted in this Album; "At Last". The Album itself, is mainly the result of online remote collaborations between Bagz and Smelly and includes contributions from musicians located in different cities around South Africa.

Thanks goes out to the following contributors who gave of their efforts free of charge.

Gerry van Wyk - Posthumously for writing inputs on “Apple Cider Sally” and “Graveyard”.
Dave Evans - who plays drums on all the tracks.
Ian Gordon - for guitar work on “Big City Blues”
Martin Hunter – Sax on “Reconsider Honey”
Mike Pregnolato – for the guitar work on “Things Change” and “Graveyard”
Nux Schwartz – for the guitars on “Coming Out of The Dark”, “Reconsider Honey”, and “My My My"

Sit Back, Listen and we hope you Enjoy!
