Album Notes
In the far future humanity has spread across the galaxy under the direction of a powerful but now largely forgotten Earth government. Upon its collapse, the various constituent peoples fragmented and developed new and unique cultures as they spread further and further through space. One of these cultures, inspired by the Earthen empires of antiquity formed itself in the image of ancient Assyria and began a campaign to conquer the known universe as would befit their adopted forebears. For 500 years these Neo Assyrians have continued to thrust world after world under the imperial yoke. But, as was the case in the days of old, the galaxy is vast and contains many unfriendly territories. Brooding dissidents plot attacks from within as innumerable cultures on the fringes of the known galaxy continue to harry the edges of the empire. The current emperor, Ashurbanipal III, has thus far reigned with a keen ability to quash rebellions and repel would-be invaders. But, as he well knows, empires rise. Empires fall.

Synthesizers and guitars abound in this lush pop rock saga that vignettes the people of this world and the struggles they face in being part of it. Written and produced by Ryan Thomas of The Machete Archive, this is: The Tides of Hegemony!
