Album Notes
The Album "Falling To Grace was created by Pete Barnhart and David Rose at Elemental Studio in Lancaster, Pa and released through Spirit Wind Records. Elemental Studio is owned and operated by Pete Barnhart. Pete Barnhart, a native of Lancaster, PA, has had a very illustrious career as a musician. He has been playing music for forty years since the age of three and has performed/toured live since the age of sixteen. Pete has acquired over the years very unique percussion instruments from all over the world and also builds/sells Djembes that are top notch. So feel free to drop a line to Pete about his Djembes; by the way, I'm a proud owner of one of his Djembes. Pete is available to collaborate/produce with anyone on their music project that requires a percussionist. He has worked with an impressive list of musicians over the years and I'm happy that I have had the opportunity to work with Pete on this project, and hopefully many more to come.

Here is the story behind our collaboration. Several years ago I purchased a CD called "Hang Meditations"(released in 2004) which featured Pete and Ron Kravitz. This was one of the earliest recordings of the Hang at that time. After hearing the album, I got the Hang bug and bought my first Hang from Ron Kravitz who was a dealer at the time. I used the Hang in my live solo performance and then eventually lost interest in playing the instrument. I was able to find a home for the Hang which is now owned by Randy Granger. Moving forward a few years to 2013, I visited the same store where I had bought "Hang Meditations" and saw that Pete Barnhart had several albums on the shelf, so of course I bought them. I saw in the credits of his albums that he lived in Lancaster, PA, so I took the chance to contact him and the rest is history....

I noticed from one of his albums that he worked with Steve Howe of Yes/Asia. So of course I have an inquiring mind and wanted to know the story about Pete and Steve. So in Pete's words, "I met Steve Howe as a teenager growing up in the small town of Lititz, Pa. where the band Yes would often rehearse before touring. In '93 I was hired by a friend in the business to drive Steve on two tours, one in '93 and one in '94. In '96 Steve was in the area and and I asked him to record a track on my 1st solo album. He agreed and the results can be heard on my album "No Boundaries". Steve was one of my music heroes and it was an experience of a lifetime...."

Spirit Wind Records recording artist and One World Music Award Winner David Rose, of Mexican and Native American heritage(Choctaw/Cherokee), has been a lifelong musician and is very passionate about music. David currently resides in Elizabethtown, PA, with his wife Cindy and two cats. He graduated from Harrisburg Area Community College in the Music Technology and Marketing program. David freelances as a recording/mixing engineer, and he has presented lectures and workshops in recording and mixing. He has recorded as a solo artist and with the band Painted Raven. As a former member of Painted Raven, David has performed in music festivals across the country, and has been nominated for both an Indian Summer Music Award and a NAMA (Native American Music Award). David's flute music was featured on internationally acclaimed Mars Lasar's “Tahoe Spirit.” Music from this CD was used in Jeff Corwin's MSNBC documentary, "100 Heartbeats." As a solo performer he has performed at weddings, art gallery openings, historical venues, libraries, public events, charity events for veterans, and educational functions. In 2008, he performed as part of the The Gatherings Concert Series in Philadelphia, PA, hosted by Chuck van Zyl, host of Stars End radio program, aired on WXPN 88.5. In 2013, David released his solo CD "Wind Dance Under The Moon" through Spirit Wind Records. This album was awarded best Native American Flute album of 2013 by One World Music/UK, it was #1 on the One World chart, and it was ranked #82 by Zone Music Reporter on the New Age chart in November, 2013. David has also released “Ocean Spirits” from his Music of the Winds Healing Soundscapes Series.
