Album Notes
Peter Galperin composes in an eclectic style borrowing from Jazz and the Afro/Latin rhythms of Brazilian/West African music, combined with an alt/rock aesthetic. His lyrics share a black humor/self-depreciating sensibility. He writes of the mundane and the complex, admits to what he doesn’t understand and questions what he already knows. An online review of his 2010 debut CD “Perfect World Today” by Robert Stevens Silverstein on Music Web Express 3000 compared him to "..the spirit of Paul Simon at his most folk-rockingest”. And his newest CD "A Disposable Life" has been hailed by Silverstein as "A 21st century pop masterpiece... sounds like Phil Spector producing a young Leonard Cohen."
