44 Waltzes on 88 Keys

by Peter Schaaf

Well-known and beloved waltzes by three great composers, Schubert, Brahms and Ravel, are combined with refreshing, charming, but rarely performed waltzes by Antonin Dvorak—a delightful mix, deeply felt and elegantly played. An excellent gift for children.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Peter Schaaf, known for his splendid CD recording of Albéniz’s Iberia, gives loving attention to each of these 44 waltzes with their varying textures and moods. Well-known waltzes by three great composers, Schubert, Brahms, and Ravel, are combined with refreshing, charming, but rarely performed waltzes by Dvorak. A delightful mix, deeply felt and elegantly played.

Released late in 2016, the first review has just come in: Matthew Gurewitsch calls Schaaf's Dvorak waltzes "meditative, mercurial vignettes rendered with an unassuming poet's touch."
