Using the piano as instrument of both power and passion, Phil Bingham has created an anthology of music that interprets and communicates the depth and dimension of the Spirit. Quiet Zone: Silence is Speaking encourages listeners to notice the Sovereign beauty in musical movement and in everyday life.

Track #7 Hank Jones tribute
Quiet Zone: Silence is Speaking is meditation in a melody. Phil Bingham’s CD is a combination of gospel songs and church hymns, they're interpretations. Track #7 is titled Threnody for the Living, is a piano tribute to the Late Hank Jones. Phil Binghams’ CD is reminiscent of the Hank Jones and Charlie Haden CD, Steal Away: Spirituals Hymns & Folk Songs. Hank Jones stated "I grew up in the church, and it's always been a part of my life."
Jimmy Heath stated that "I never heard him (Hank Jones) play a bad note" at the Celebration of Life & Memorial for the legendary pianist.

Phil Bingham, an accomplished pianist, composer, and arranger. Phil’s first CD “Quiet Zone: Silence is Speaking” was just released in August. “Using the piano as an instrument of both power and passion, Phil has created an anthology of music that interprets and communicates the depth and dimension of the Spirit.”
Phil Bingham has achieved recognition as a consummate musician, pianist, music educator and minister of music. He started his musical career at the age of eight, playing piano at Bethany C&MA Church in Bronx, New York, attended the original High School of Music and Art in NYC. The movie Fame (originally released in 1980, and remade in 2009) and the TV Series Fame both dramatized student life at (Music and Art) LaGuardia High School. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree from Nyack College. Mr. Bingham tenure includes a musician in residence: Drew Seminary Week, Ocean Grove, NJ. Phil is also the Minister of Music emeritus of the Concord Baptist Church of Christ, Brooklyn, NY.
Currently, Phil’s professional life involves choral and piano workshops including jazz improvisation, big band music and Gospel music. He is also a music consultant in the New York Department of Education Schools. He is also a faculty member of Jazz House Kids in Montclair, NJ. Phil is truly a well-rounded and gifted artist. Listening to “Quiet Zone” with Phil and his piano you will let your soul soar as it connects with the love of God through his music.

As a former associate director of the New York City All City High School Chorus, Mr. Bingham’s’ has been recognized as a consummate choral teacher and conductor. His tenure includes conductor of the N.Y.C. All City High School international tours; Max Roach, International Tour, Grammy Jazz Chorus Music in our Schools Week; Barry Harris Jazz Choir; Barry Harris Children’s Choir, Symphony Space; N.Y.C. City College, Community Choir.

In addition, has been a Choral clinician, consultant at some of the New Jersey area Churches, Mr. Bingham’s’ music experience and tenure includes Minister of Music, Concord Baptist Church of Christ, Brooklyn, New York, Shiloh Baptist Church, Newark, and St. Pauls Baptist Church, Montclair N.J. ….Philip Bingham, Concord Baptist’s beloved minister of music for nearly 20 years, stepped down to pursue activities like training newer church musicians.
