Great music for the car, plenty of variety, a must have!!!
The album is a new treasure of jazz melodies that are varied, yet cohesive. When I mention other artists it is just to give you the flavor, the work is totally original. Brownstone kicks it off with a Rippington's feel, great counterpoint guitar rhythms, uplifting tonality. Makes me want to drive to the beach. The title cut has wonderful flute as the lead. Flowing and clear, sparkles with lots of feeling. This may sound off the wall, but if you know the British band Camel, It has some of the feel of their later work, mixed with Bob James. Abby sounds like a good tune we all know from somewhere, but just can't place it. That is because it's new of course, but it's infectious. Lorber sounds wonderful with the kick horns. It's that up-beat Sypro Gyra song you never heard, cause it's not them! Alone is similar to Breeze in a good way. Now to my two favorites. Across Gibraltar sounds like it came right off the radio. All the feel and theme you could want from a great light jazz tune. My single favorite is Faeries in the Glen. This song will make you smile and think of something pleasant from your past. Songabout takes a big turn and jumps is with bright high energy. A good change of pace and harkens to tower of power. Thoughts is like Abby also in a good way, and the last track, In flight is back to upbeat and that classic 80's 90's jazz feel as great as the others of this theme, I hear the Brecker brothers, with some Allan Holdsworth in this. Thanks Phil!!!!

I've known Phil for 30+ years, when he only played music by ear. His third CD is great quality and he surrounded himself with incredible musicians. GREAT JOB..I'd recommend this to any and all jazz folks.
