Album Notes
German-born singer-songwriter P*I*A has more recently been concentrating on producing her Debut Album. She wrote all songs on her upcoming Debut Album "World in Black" that will be released on December 21, 2012, day of the Galactic Alignment. Her music and lyrics present a very personal, yet universal, experience, a kaleidoscopic embrace of many different musical influences like indie rock, indie folk, middle eastern and jazz, and following from her arts and multi-media background, her live performances are accompanied by mind-opening visuals. The studio work done in New York City includes MSR/Legacy studio and Avatar studio where she teamed up with Roy Hendrickson resulting in outstanding mixes. The congenial mastering engineer Alan Silverman gave the Album sparkling sonics and rare beauty that enhances P*I*A's pure vocals and full sound. P*I*A recorded with eminent musicians Ray Newton (drums/percussion) and Marvin Sewell (guitars), latter known from Cassandra Wilson's band to give her production the musical quality and rare musicianship that takes this atmospheric album with indie influences beyond usual singer-songwriter releases.

Her musical ventures as a singer/songwriter and multi-media performer brought her show into conventional music and less conventional art venues like museums, art fairs and the National Arts Club NYC etc... A self-taught natural vocalist, P*I*A continues her quest for new sounds and to develop her craft and almost 4 octave range. Having exposed herself to jazz and folk scenes in New York City for years, she is currently pursuing operatic vocal training lending incredible versatility to her artistic expression.

P*I*A enhances her unique sound with top musicians, including true multistylist drummer Ray Newton, who has played on many major recordings and performed at Radio City Music Hall, Lincoln Center, and throughout the world, and guitarist extraordinaire Marvin Sewell, who is the musical director of jazz legend Cassandra Wilson, in addition to outstanding israeli bassist Eddy Khaimovich and former cirque de soleil drummer Andreas Winter.

P*I*A has an enthusiastic and growing following of fans worldwide. She utilizes her voice as instrument and–when the spirit moves her–accompanies her singing on her 6 or 12-string guitars. The most important element of her music are voice and guitars, you will find her playing together with Steven Ciric as an acoustic duo at times and three guitarists on stage other times, creating a unique and special sound that can only be produced by such an outstanding band and melodically refined songs.
