ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Pi Jacobs grew up in the musically rich environment of San Francisco and started singing in choir at her "hippie" preschool at age three. Over the course of her career as a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Jacobs has independently released five albums, has toured extensively in the US and Europe, and has had more than 60 songs placed in TV, film, and advertising. Even if you haven't heard her name, you have probably heard her music!
After many years of "paying dues" the last couple of years have been game changers for Pi. In 2013, she signed with LA's boutique Publishing Company, Little Brother Music. Then in 2014, she released her first vinyl single, HOME, which received airplay on LA's tastemaker KCRW station. Pi is poised to release her next album, Hi-Rise Ranch in April 2015.
Produced by Eugene Toale (Kanye West, Mya, Brandy, Raekwon), Her first single from the new album, a cover of Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, made famous by Led Zepplin is currently out, and creates high expectations for the arrival of the album. The treatment of this old classic is purely Pi, unique and fresh, with fat hip hop drums, tasty guitars, and most of all, Pi's signature vocal arrangements, filled with soul and longing and tight harmonies. Pi will be releasing 2 more singles before Hi-Rise Ranch hits the earth. Stay tuned. -
