ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This our second EP moving on from The Harmony Tree and combines the talents of two families - the Andersons (Keith, Liz & Holly) and the Holders (three generations of them!) including Gary on double bass, his son - the very talented Thomas - on keyboard brass, cello and banjo and his dad Ian on accordion. Percussion, drums and cajon were provided by the fantastic Tim Houston and last but not least the ginger maestro that is Chris Davies engineered, co-produced and also played mandolin, lead acoustic guitar and tambourine for us. Truly a genius.
For the EP we used two self penned songs, the first is the opener for our live shows "Keeping Me Waiting" an upbeat track with a spaghetti Western feel and the second is the title track "Washed Stones". This is a slower, more poignant song with acres of space, beautiful harmonies and a the sort of double bass that makes your whole body vibrate. To end the EP, we used a traditional version of "House of the Rising Sun" but with a difference. It's more of a country hoe down with some blues guitar and goes at a real pace.
We had a great time recording this EP, due in no small part to Chris Davies' relaxed approach which hides the busy perfectionist he really is. He is ginger and we are grateful. We hope you enjoy it too.
