ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Pimp Tea’s sophomore album ‘An Urbal Remedy,’ accompanied by a 12” vinyl release, provides an enjoyable display of the diversity, progression and unique sound from this Fredericton, NB rap emcee. Formerly known as PIMP-T, the enhanced CD portion manages to capture Pimp Tea’s energetic live proponent for which he is renown. This energy has ultimately landed him performing live on MusiquePlus, ZeD TV (CBC), Breakfast Television, Global Noon and the 2003 Canada Winter Games.

Inspired by his late Great Great Uncle Don Messer - a fiddling legend – he was nominated for an East Coast Music Award (2003) with his debut album Power Is Mindful Peace and a CUMA Award (2000). He's also a senior writer for HipHopCanada.com, the 2002, 2003 & 2004 CUMA award winner for Best Canadian Website. His indie video for 'Tha PIMP-T Theme' was featured on MuchMusic and MusiquePlus.

'Shake Ya Caboose' won a 2005 ECMA for Urban Single of the Year. It charted on 35+ stations in North America & peaked at #24 on Record Breakers charts. An Urbal Remedy garnered three 2005 ECMA nominations: two for Urban Single & one for Manager of the Year. It features vocals from Bonshah & Mickey D and includes production by Jorun, Classified, Nevski & more. In November, the album peaked at #7 on the national Earshot! Hip-Hop charts.

An Urbal Remedy has received provincial features in newspapers in NB, NS & PEI; was featured on the national Canadian University Press (CUP) Arts Wire; has received glowing reviews in Exclaim, Peace, The Reader, Aquinian, The Brunswickan & more, while gaining comparisons to De La Soul, Buck 65, Andre 3000 & Organized Rhyme.
