Album Notes
Karin Plato is a Vancouver based Jazz vocalist and composer who was nominated for a Juno award in 2000 for her recording "There's Beauty In The Rain". She toured across Canada in 2001 in support of her current release "Blue Again" in cities including Montreal, Toronto, Kingston, Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon, Medicine Hat and Vancouver.

Karin has appeared in several Canadian Festivals including Vancouver du Maurier International Jazz Festival, The Sasktel Jazz Festival, The Harmony Arts Festival, The Jasper Festival of Music and Wine and others. Since 1996 she has released four recordings of jazz standards and originals each which garnered her positive critical review. In the United States she has performed at the jazz club BAKES PLACE and has had her music featured on KPLU's AFTER HOURS on occasion.
In 2003 she was nominated for Canadian Jazz Vocalist of the Year as part of the NATIONAL JAZZ AWARDS 2003 in Toronto, Ontario (awarded to Diana Krall).

She has been featured on CBC programs including JAZZBEAT, HOT AIR, NORTH BY NORTHWEST and THIS MORNING.
Karin has written and arranged music for concerts such as THE APRIL ARRANGEMENT in 2000 at The Vancouver East Cultural Centre, FESTIVE JAZZ at The Capilano College Theatre in 2000, THE MUSIC OF ROGERS AND HART at The Jazz Cellar in 2001. She has performed on stage with vocalist Denzal Sinclaire (The Earl Marriott Theatre Dec 2001) and with Kate Hammett-Vaughan (The Vancouver East Cultural Centre (June 2002).

Highlight performances include opening up for pianist Brad Meldau at the Sasktel Jazz Festival in Saskatoon in 2000 and opening up for Peter Appleyard in Vancouver in 2001.
Karin loves to share well known standards as well as lesser known tunes with her audience and also likes to introduce them to some of her own songs. She performs with her jazz quartet as well as performing duo concerts with guitarist Bill Coon.
