ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
MUSIC IN THE BLOOD
Carol Plunk was practically born with a guitar in her hands. Delivered into a family of musicians, she began her musical quest at an early age by joining in on bluegrass jam sessions with her father and his friends. It wasn't long before Carol was in a league of her own, outplaying the other musicians.

GARAGE BAND DAYS
At the age of fifteen, a few years after discovering rock n roll, Carol started her first band, "Revelation". Carol and three neighborhood friends began to practice in her parents living room. It wasn't long before they were forced to move into the garage where they rehearsed three or more nights a week. After many banging sessions, "Revelation" began to perform in local night clubs and participated in several winning competitions. During their seven years together, "Revelation" was one of the most popular bands in Jackson, Tennessee.

BELLE CURVE FEVER
After many years of playing in a band, Carol traded in her electric guitar for an acoustic and formed a female duo known as "The Belle Curves". Before long, "Belle Curve Fever" began in Memphis, Tennessee and the duo performed for standing room only audiences night after night. "If you want to see one of the hottest local acts around, check out The Belle Curves at the Poplar Lounge." Tim Sampson, The Memphis Flyer, August 24-30 1995. After releasing a self titled cd in 1995, "The Belle Curves" hit the road and performed in over 500 night clubs across the United States. In the fall of 1996, "The Belle Curves" decided to go their separate ways, leaving Carol with the opportunity to develop a solo career as a singer, songwriter and musician.

A STAR IS BORN
As "The Belle Curves" disbanded, Carol began working on a solo cd in which she released in late 1996, simply titled, "Carol Plunk". She toured vigorously for two years around the United States, performing in clubs, coffeehouses, festivals, and events such as the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, GA. In January 1999, Carol released her second solo cd titled, "Plunk This!". This vast collection displays strong lyrics, powerful vocals and catchy melodies. "Carol Plunk is a talented musician with a strong voice, but what truly sets Carol apart is her
incredible song writing ability." Jeff Hepfer, burn yer radio, May 31, 1999. Just a girl and her guitar, Carol's unique rhythmic style and full sound captivates crowds of all genres. "Plunk sounded almost a full as a regular band by maintaining her own mid tempo groove and not merely relying on the open chord jangle of airy finger picking most often found in solo acoustic acts." Barrett Hathcock, Dateline Memphis, October 28, 1999. After continuous nightly performances, Carol lunged into the new millennium with a bang. On March 30, 2000, she was presented by the Memphis Chapter of The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the Premier Player Newcomer of the Year award. She has shared the stage with musical artists such as, Michael McDonald (The Doobie Brothers), Kevin Kinney (Drivin n Cryin), Cyndi Lauper and many more. In January 2001, Carol released her third solo cd titled, "A Piece of Me". With this solo effort, Carol strives to reach her dream to become a rock n roll star. To many, she already is. "This passionate performer is a star", Nancy Apple, Digital City, Memphis, October 17, 1999.

She just keep getting better and better.
I have known Carol since the very beginning when she was only a lowly errand girl for a law firm in Jackson, TN. She was passionate about her music then and is still passionate. Listening to her music makes me very happy that she is just getting better and better and one day I look to see her accept an award at the Grammys. She IS that good. Keep it up Carol - - YOU RULE!!!!!!

Carol is electric. She can play a guitar like no one I have ever seen. Her song writing talents are out of this world. Her first CD was good but her second CD, Plunk This, is awesome. She plays like she means it and you can see that she loves what she does. I cannot wait for her third CD to be released. She is one of the most talented singer/songwriters I have ever met.

Reprinted by permission of 'Family and Friends****IN THE MIX--written by Melinda McSparrin (May 1999) PLUNK THIS!-Carol Plunk I am sure that by now most of our readers are familiar with Carol Plunk, formerly of the duo The Belle Curves, and a former Memphis live bar music staple. If you aren't familiar with her, you should be. She has recently released her second solo CD titled, PLUNK THIS! This second offering by Plunk is a more polished display of her musical talents, and song writing abilities than her first self-titled solo effort released in 1996. Although I liked her first CD a lot, PLUNK THIS!, shows a maturity in the music and vocals, and is already receiving rave reviews from radio stations and music executives across the United States. The CD features mostly original music written by Plunk and Nancy Rzeszutek, but veers off that course for a fun rendition of ABBA's "Dancing Queen." It also features an expanded vocal version of her song "Getaway," appeared on her first CD as a short guitar instrumental, and a more polished version of "Tell Me Why,"which she recorded as an acoustic number on the first CD. It also features both an acoustic and full-instrument version of the opening track "Garden." Where her first CD was a true solo effort, with Plunk playing all the instruments as well as doing all the vocals, this second CD features the talents of Tony Blackburn on bass guitar and Sid Barton on drums, with special appearances by Mary Williams (background vocals), Shane Ownby (lead Guitar), Joseph Montgomery (electric piano and Hammond organ), Danny Archer (background vocals) and Melbon Plunk (banjo).

singer/songwriter/musician Carol Plunks latest CD "Plunk This" is a hit! Carol's vocals are passionate and firey. Her performance on has so much emotion and intensity, you could almost cut it with a knife. It's been a while since I've heard a CD this lively and raw. Carol deserves all the praises thrown her way. I have seen the future and it is Carol Plunk. "Plunk This" is a collection of well written acoustic songs with catchy melodies. Songs such as "Midnightmare" , "Tennesse" are very appealing but the true hightlight is the uptempo "Garden". Carol's cover of ABBA's "Dancing Queen" is very refreshing. "Plunk This" is a hit and leaves you wanting more.
