Album Notes
Pocket Caravan cross continents with ease, merging soaring Balkan melodies with driving Latin rhythms and virtuosic improvisations.

The ensemble began with a chance encounter between British guitarist Peter Michaels and Brazilian violinist Felipe Karam. With a shared interest in exploring musical cultures, they began touring the UK, playing at venues such as the National Theatre, Royal Albert Hall, Southbank Centre, V&A museum and a ruined Tudor castle.

The group were soon signed to the London-based Forge Label. Their first two albums contain original compositions inspired by countries they have lived in and travelled through. In 2012 the duo toured Brazil and recorded a brand new album. Entitled THR3E, it explores dances from around the world which have triple-meter at their core.

From the Chamame dances of the southern Brazilian Gauchos to the African-influenced Candomble rhythms of Northern Brazil via old-world Hora dances and evocative waltzes, the album contains 11 new tracks all infused with Pocket Caravan's trademark fiery sound.
