Album Notes
This CD is dedicated to my mother, Donna. You brought me into this world and taught me compassion and love for my fellow human being. You always showed me the that I could believe in myself and I don't know what I would do without you. I love you mommy!

No musician's career is built alone. Without the fans and supporters, we would not have careers doing what we love. From the day I was born I knew what I was going to do, play music. Never been any good at anything else. Well, a couple of things but let's not mention them here! I am humbled to have the friends I do and the kindness and warmth you have shown me has known no bounds. Every single day I find more reasons to be thankful and that is, in part, thanks to all of you. Much peace all and don't forget, 'If you love the blues, spread the news. Cause if nobody knows, nobody goes!"

About the songs:
It Takes a Real Woman - This was written as an ode to all of those wives and girlfriends of us bluesmen around the world who are always there for us. It takes a real woman to marry a man of the blues!
I Ain't Complaining(I'm Just Explaining) - What can I say?
Shannon - This was pretty much one take in the studio and it sounded so great that we kept it.
Chromatic Blues - This idea has been done before but I just love the way it sounds. The Chromatic Blues hits all the notes!
What You Got - The title track had no name until the studio. You can't go back so ya got to take what you got.
Ronnie's Song - Stole many ideas from Ronnie over the years and this is my song for him. Never met him, never played with him but have been inspired by his playing ever since I started playing these blues. This is for you Mr Earl and thank you!
Blame Yourself - This tune is about all of those folks who blame the world for their mistakes. Sometimes it ain't the world that is against you, it may just be you.
Deepest Shade of Blue - Wrote this one in the studio and it was inspired by a very badly broken heart and soul. Never been that down before but it helped me to rise up again and that is a good thing. My therapy is the blues!
Dub Step - Wrote this for JW Jones when he agreed to be a part of this project and I love how it came off! A stellar musician and a true blues gentleman, this one is for you Dub!
Nice Talkin' To Ya - This is a phrase our pal Frank always says when he is done talking and walks away. For you Uncle Frank!
Stay Away Baby - I wanted to close out the CD with this great tune penned by my good pal, Brandon Isaak(Yukon Slim). Been playing this song for years and we decided to record it the same way we do it live. Plus, it's just real good advice!

Thank you:
Well, this CD has been a long time coming for me! Been 6 years since the last one and was about time I got back in the studio again. I can say with all honesty that this CD would not have happened were it not for so many people. First, Donna Walker, my mother, and the woman I admire the most, Cameron Ward and Scott Grant, Shannon Ross for her faith and assistance, JW Jones for appearing on it and for all of his help and inspiration, Michael Garding for his huge listening ears and his lovely wife Val for keeping us fed and full of coffee at the studio, Jimmy Jam Butler, my roomate and pal who drove me all over when I had no car, Larry 'Moby' Smith(The Blue Gator) a man with the most generous of hearts around, Clare Anderson(The Minstrel Cafe) who has quickly
become a great friend and true patron of the arts, Holger Petersen for always playing my music and supporting the blues, and to all of you who have come out to the gigs over the years. I may not be known around the world, but you folks are the ones who have truly made me feel like a king! Without your faith and support I would not have been able to go on and do this one thing I was put here for, to play the blues. Thank you all so much!
