Album Notes
Back up in them woods, amongst the tall oaks and the swaying cottonwoods, where the trailers and the trash run rampant, from the depths of the Ozark muck, an outfit of tunesmiths and storytellers was spawned, and they called themselves Powder Mill.

These boys took the instruments their uncles, daddys, and granddaddys played when they was young, and they bred that traditional sound with the rock & roll and blues they discovered when they left their home on the Current River. These influences came together on their 2008 critically acclaimed debut record "New Mountain". Shortly after its release, the boys wasted no time in returning to Trumble Hill Studios on beautiful Miller Lake in the heart of backwoods Carter County to confidently begin work on "Do Not Go Gently".

Powder Mill's sophomore effort proves that these "Millbillies", as their dedicated fans so affectionately call them, have matured into a musical ensemble whose music-making has never been attempted before. Their blend of hard-edged slopbucket rock & roll and traditional porch-pickin' has got people talkin'.....and listenin'.

besides being a great bunch of great guys, these boys really are good at what they do. every member is a key link to the bands success. the talent each man brings is not only unique, but extremely rare as well. this was clearly evident on the first album "New Mountain". the newly released second album,"Do Not Go Gently", returns with the same tenacity as its predocessor. the stories told on this album speak volumes about the band and who they are and the world they grew up in. some sad, some funny, some just plain cool; but all are true. if you have not bought your copy of the new Powder Mill, you are missing out big time!!! all you have to do is listen one time and you'll be hooked. i only see much success for Powder Mill in the future. i never thoght they could make a better album than "New Mountain", but they did with this album ten times over! i wish i could give more than 5 stars. if you dont know, now ya know!!!! they rock!!!!! luv you guys.
