Album Notes
What is Identity? Questions like these have inspired Pravin Thompson time and time again. To create and dig deeper into a consciousness that is unattainable outside of music. "Identity" is an attempt at answering this question. A blend of rock and jazz, two loves have strongly influenced Pravin for years. His unique song-like compositional style, is an attempt to find his own Identity and voice in the craze of the New York Jazz scene.

Joined by Anthony Pocetti, Jarrett Walser, and Charlie Dougherty, the Pravin Thompson Quartet has been playing and writing music together for the last year and a half. All Jersey born musicians, with influences ranging from Wayne Shorter, Art Blakey, Bill Frisell, to rock bands such as Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Circa Survive, and Tool. They are working on bringing together the sounds, aggression, timbre of rock music and the spirit and interactive nature of jazz.
