“Prita is without doubt one of the finest female singer/songwriters anywhere out there.. Every single track on her album is a gem and she’s just as good live… She’s going to be huge.” Rob Harrison, Riviera Radio – Monaco

As a solo artist, Prita creates her own band sound live in front of her audience.‘with an excellent sense of rhythm, and a exceptional voice she astounds the audience’ Lemgo Brake News, DE. Utilizing a loop pedal, the thing that sets her apart from other singer songwriters is the live layering of her own vocals, guitar and beat-box, seamlessly incorporating many layers of harmonies and vocals into her songs. Drawing from her folk roots, singer songwriter Prita mixes elements of Jazz, Blues and Soul with a little hip-hop to create her own blend of ‘hip-soul-folk’.

From her foundation of folk singer songwriter roots influenced by the sounds of Cat Stevens, Tracy Chapman, and Crowded House to intricately layered harmonies, rhythmic percussion, accapella jazz and soul vocals, nurtured by the voices of Whitney Houston, Diana Ross & the Supremes, and Stevie Wonder; and her beat boxing – it’s all made possible with the power and range of her impressive voice, and her talent for rhythmic timing, and perfect harmony.

Once you experience Prita’s exceptional live loop show, you’ll be hooked by her soulful rhythmic songs and captivated by her stunning vocal performance. It’s easy to see why ‘European audiences are sitting up and taking notice of this captivating musician from Fremantle.’ Australian Times, UK

Inspired by the people she meets while travelling around the world, Prita’s songs tell stories of love and loss, pursuing dreams, tolerance and human interest. Her songwriting is both storytelling and soulful, touching audiences with her impressive voice and her natural ability with harmony; she has been likened to Carole King, Tracy Chapman and Norah Jones. Fans say her candid approach to song-writing and performing is like ‘watching open heart surgery’ audiences have described it as ‘captivating, inspiring and uplifting’.

Prita’s success includes supporting Simply Red and Marcia Hines in front of 11,000 people, sold out shows with Ed Kowalczyk of ‘Live’; John Paul Young ‘Love is in the air’; Ross ‘Eagle Rock’ Wilson; Mental as Anything; Thirsty Merc; Monique Brumby, and Paul Greene. She has played alongside ‘Gurumul Yunipingu’; Michelle Shocked; Lior; The Waifs and John Butler at Festivals around Australia and has shared the stage with many musicians around the world. Festival appearances include Fairbridge Festival (AU); Nannup Music Festival (AU); Broome Blues and Roots(AU); Port Fairy Festival(AU); Stony Live(UK); Togfest (UK); Melodica Festival (DK); Jazz in Allen Gassen (DE); Ingolstadt Blues (DE); Fete De La Musique (DE).

Prita has independently released 4 CD’s – ‘Prita EP’, ‘Bootleg Live’, her most recent EP ‘After the Storm’ recorded in Athens, and her debut full length album ‘New Life’ recorded in Australia with a full band. All are available worldwide on all major distributors including itunes and amazon. She has received radio airplay and press around Australia, the UK, France, Greece, Germany and the Caribbean.

Prita’s musical adventures have taken her around the world, touring far and wide from Peurto Rico to Phuket. Now based in Berlin after leaving her beloved home-town of Fremantle, Western Australia in 2011 to continue pursuing her dreams, she has been touring expansively throughout Europe. Her natural talents and down-to-earth nature charming audiences world-wide.

Growing up in rural Australia, Prita’s roots spread far and wide from the South West Coast of Australia to the far East Coast of NSW with her family constantly on the move. Prita’s musical roots developed as a child, always singing, dancing and performing, to learning classical guitar at age 13 yrs. She continued to develop her skills throughout high-school, performing with every theatre, dance and music group that was available. Her family’s musical abilities stem from the Grandmothers on both sides of the family being both singers and piano players, with a kind of osmosis Prita has absorbed their heritage with a strong line of Celtic influences from Scottish, Irish, Welsh, English and Australian ancestry.

Having always had a love of music and performing, travelling and adventure, Prita’s life has taken her on many journeys giving her rich material to draw from in her songwriting. Graduating from School, Prita entered the working world with jobs from Child-care to Hospitality before deciding to follow a career in Massage Therapy. Never content to settle, she continued studying language, business, and music until deciding to give her music career the undivided attention it deserved. An email ‘out of the blue’ led her to take up an offer of a one month residency in Phuket, Thailand solidifying her desire to take her music further. Since then she has toured Europe, Australia and parts of the USA several times.

Highlights of her careers so far have been: playing at festivals around the world; meeting her idols Sally Dastey from Tiddas, Michael Spiby from the Badloves, meeting and supporting Ed Kowalczyk of ‘Live’ opening for Simply Red; playing on stage with fellow artists Jaimi Faulkner, Coby Grant, Toby, Paul Greene, Dave Mann, Nathan Gaunt, Lee West; playing intimate concerts throughout Europe; singing on Private Yachts in the Mediterranean; performing outdoors on top of a mountain in Switzerland; being part of intimate wedding ceremonies around the world; playing open air festivals around Europe.
