Album Notes
Private Jones is fronted by singer/songwriter David Alderson, in Las Vegas, Nevada. David writes, records, performs, and produces Private Jones songs in his home studio dubbed Sunspot Studio with help from many musicians, and friends. David’s goal in studio is to work with as many different, and talented musicians as possible, with guest’s stopping by Sunspot Studio to jam and record, or via the internet using the exciting tools afforded modern musicians thru internet file share. With a little help from some good friends, David plans to make each Private Jones recording something special.
Private Jones draws influences from many sources beginning first, and for most with the songwriting team of Lennon/McCartney of The Beatles, as well as their solo work. Other important influences, and inspiration comes from many classic rock sources including Queen ( for their sheer genius, and willingness to move in multiple directions ), Kiss, Cheap Trick, David Bowie, Tom Petty, T- Rex, Van Halen, Def Leppard, The Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin. David’s songwriting for Private Jones is also inspired by other more modern artists, including The White Stripes ( anything by Jack White III ), Nirvana, The Stereophonics, STP, Collective Soul, and Lenny Kravitz. And last, but certainly not least, Private Jones has the blues at heart. Son House, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, and BB King, and a host of others, all hold a special place in David’s heart as a songwriter.
Private Jones songs are populated with many themes, stories, and characters, starting simply with the universal theme of love. The great Sir Paul McCartney once asked in Silly Love Songs, “What’s wrong with that?” to which David says, “absolutely nothing.” David also touches often on sex, individual liberty, history, and various works of literature that have touched him in life. But for the most part, Private Jones songs are filled with love, as it relates to relationships between lovers, family, people both real, and imagined, and David’s love, and belief in Jesus Christ.
When Private Jones gets out of the studio, and onto a stage for a live show, a high energy, heart pounding, explosive, rock fest is an absolute guarantee. The Private Jones concert features songs pulled from an ever expanding song catalog, performed by David, and his live band that give every once of heart, soul, and sweat, leaving everything there on the stage. Private Jones live features David Alderson on guitar, and lead vocals, Artie Lemos on lead guitar, Michael Dunigan on bass, Josh “Sketch” Ellis on drums, and London Mace on Keys, and guitar.
For those that wish to have a more intimate, and up close Private Jones experience, an acoustic performance may be the ticket. David performs solo, and as a duo in clubs, bookstores, or in a House Concert setting, often showcasing new, and less exposed material, as well as a well placed cover to the audience. These shows are a great way for David, and friends of Private Jones to meet in person, chat, and get to know each other.
Private Jones values each, and every friend out here in the rock n roll world, and hopes to continue to share the music, and friendship with anyone that wants to come along for the ride. There are infinite places to find music of your life’s soundtrack, so Private Jones hope’s you find some of your favorites right here in our little corner of the rock world.
